MARKING UP
Marking-up is carried out on the First Saturday of each month.
You may wish to notify the Office of your intention to attend or just turn up at 8.00am
Please note that if there is no one in attendance by 8.15am, then Mr Mal Braunberger will depart.

Protocols and Procedures for Trainer and Handlers
Townsville TAB Meetings
* All scratching's to be phoned through to GQL headquarters (07 32627800) by the owner/trainer from 7.30am to 8.30am (strict cut off time) on the day of the meeting.
* Trainers will need to provide the ear brand of the greyhound, their licence number as well as a valid reason for the scratching.
* Any scratching's received after 8.30am on the day of the meeting will be deemed a late scratching and veterinary or other official advice will be required or penalties will be applied.
* Scratching's can be phoned through to GQL headquarters anytime prior to the scheduled race day during normal office hours.
* If your greyhound is drawn as a reserve runner it is the trainers responsibility to check if the greyhound has obtained a start. All scratching details can be found on GQL website as well as the UniTAB website, or alternatively the Townville club.
* Further as it is a TAB meeting, reserve runners who do not gain a start are not required to be bought to the track.
Dress Code: (Minimum Dress requirements)
Handlers:
Male - Black/dark navy trousers/slacks (with belt) or
Black jeans (with belt)
White Collared shirt only

Female - Black/navy dress, skirt, slacks or black jeans (with belt)
Dress and skirt minimum knee length
White Collared blouse only

Footwear
Male - dark shoes/joggers - to be worn with socks
Females - dark enclosed shoes, no heels, thongs or sandals

Head wear (Optional)
Hat must have brim
Caps, i.e. baseball - peak to be worn at front
No beanies

Catchers
Handler's dress code to apply to catchers with no specific colour of clothing and footwear required. Footwear as above.

Failure to comply with these procedures will result in the matter being referred to the Stewards, and the greyhound being handled may be scratched from the race it is to contest.

All dogs are to be boxed 1-3-5-7-2-4-6-8.
Handlers shall obey stewards/starters directions at all times
